Ben Pollara Comments on Judge McKibben’s Medical Marijuana Ruling

(Miami Beach, FL) - Today, Administrative Law Judge R. Bruce McKibben, in a 17-page ruling, wrote The Florida Department of Health erroneously disqualified Daniel Banks, the director of research and development for San Felasco Nurseries.

In response to this ruling, Ben Pollara said, “It was nearly two years ago that the Florida legislature passed the narrowly defined medical marijuana law known as the “Charlotte’s Web law”; it was three months ago that the Department of Health finally selected the five dispensing organizations to operate under this law; and today, Judge McKibben’s ruling places a further cloud of uncertainty over whether Florida patients will ever see relief under this law. The people of Florida should recognize, yet again, that what has happened in Tallahassee has been a failure for sick and suffering residents of our state. Today’s ruling should only serve to invigorate support for the passage of Amendment 2 in this November’s elections.”
